The Faculty of Science is looking to recruit two pivotal posts, to provide strategic technical support to the Dean of Faculty, Head of Infrastructure and Faculties and six Heads of School, managing a quality technical resource and space occupied to ensure a high level of quality technical support is delivered to the Faculty and its six schools of study.

The post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day operational management of the specialist research technical service and facilities, within all Schools in the Faculty of Science.

This post is available from 1 August 2013, or as soon as possible thereafter, for a full-time indefinite basis. Applicants must be able to fulfil all the essential elements of the person specification.

(Fixed-term for six months (Post A) or nine months (Post B), available from 1st May 2013 on a part time (50% FTE) basis)

£24,409 to £29,541 per annum, pro rata

We wish to recruit two fixed-term Research Associates, based within the Population Health Research group in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at UEA. The successful candidates will be required to conduct a comprehensive literature search, critical review and analysis of existing data on the adverse effects of inhaled corticosteroids in patients with asthma.

The post holders will possess:-

A good first degree in a health related area.
Ability to undertake systematic reviews.
Good written and oral communication skills.
Knowledge of research methods and critical appraisal.
Familiarity with electronic bibliographic databases for health-related research.

Salary per annum £75,000 – £85,000, depending on qualifications and experience.

UEA Health Partners is a strategic health innovation partnership between Norfolk and Suffolk NHS bodies, social care providers and the University of East Anglia. Its aim is to improve patient care through innovations in teaching and research and to instigate wealth creation through working closely with industry to bring health science discoveries to the marketplace.

We are seeking to appointment a COO who will take forward the leadership of UEA Health Partnership as it relates to the Academic Health Science Network, developing the business plan for the partnership. This new appointment is an exciting opportunity to build on the current strengths within UEA Health Partners and further strengthen our links with colleagues in all parts of the partnership.

The Post holder will play a major role in shaping the direction of the Node, particularly given the exciting collaborative possibilities that are currently emerging across the region via the joint bid with other regional nodes to become a Department of Health recognised Academic Health Science Network.

£30,424 to £36,298 per annum

The EPSRC Doctoral Prize is a prestigious scheme aimed at developing and assisting the very best EPSRC funded students to launch a successful career in research following the end of their PhD. Successful applicants will be expected to undertake significant new research although continuation of some specific work from applicants’ PhD research that will result in publications will be permitted.

The successful applicant will carry out a post-doctoral project, develop internal and external research networks, and gain experience as a postdoctoral researcher. The host School at UEA will be defined by project of the successful applicant.

Applicants must have recently completed a PhD (or submitted your thesis no more than 6 months before commencing the Fellowship) funded in whole or part by EPSRC. Lecturer in Pharmacology
