Post Name: Hatchery Manager and Extension Specialist
Qualifications, skills & experience required:

• Minimum 5-years’ experience as a supervisor or manager in a mud crab hatchery / nursery
• Must be able to demonstrate successful production of mud crab larvae and crablets from previous work places
• An excellent understanding of and skills to manage mud crab brood stock, larval rearing, water quality, nursery production
• Good English language skills, both spoken and written
• Must have trade skills appropriate to Aquaculture e.g. plumbing, construction
• Minimum 3-years’ experience in providing extension services to mud crab farmers
• Aquaculture qualifications and training
• Experience in working in a multi-cultural environment
• Successful team leadership, team building and team management capabilities
• Other aquaculture expertise and experience preferred.
  Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage the operation of a crab hatchery and nursery to produce crablets for the company’s own farm and contract farmers.
• Undertake and organize extension work to assist contract farmers optimize their farming of mud crabs.
• Manage the performance of other staff employed by GCD as directed by the company.
• Manage and contribute to all mud crab hatchery operations including brood stock husbandry, larval rearing, water quality monitoring, feeds production and nursery production.
• Ensure that all feeds, equipment and goods required to run the business successfully are ordered on a timely basis.
• Assist in the training of other GCD staff in all aspects of hatchery and nursery culture of mud crabs
• Manage and contribute to the design, planning, purchase and construction of facilities for the mud crab hatchery and nursery as directed by G&C.
• Supervise contractor(s) undertaking work onsite on behalf of G&C.
• Liaise with company staff, contract farmers and the general public as necessary to further the development of the G&C.
• Ensure that Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) standards are followed on site during construction, operation and maintenance of any equipment and ensure that all local standards, regulations and requirements are also complied with.
• Supervise the purchase of supplies or equipment to successfully operate the mud crab hatchery and nursery.
• Manage the keeping of records, receipts, and paper work as appropriate for any work undertaken on behalf of G&C as directed by senior management.
• Meet or exceed the performance criteria mutually agreed to each year.
• Undertake any other duties as may be required from time to time as directed by G&C.
  Reporting / Communications:

• Report to the CEO and other senior management of Neocrab, on the performance and operations of the hatchery and nursery on a regular basis.
