Huronia Transition Homes is a feminist organization that provides support to women and their children who have experienced abuse and/or homelessness.
We are currently hiring for the following positions for our La Maison Rosewood location:

Huronia Transition Homes job vacancies for Counsellor and House Coordinator

Post Name: Relief Crisis Counsellors
Working in a fast paced environment and meeting multiple demands of residents the crisis counsellor is scheduled for 12.5 hour shifts on an as needed basis often with short notice.
Qualifications:

• Knowledge of the impacts of violence against women, an understanding of harm reduction;
• The ability to provide telephone and in person crisis counselling services including information exchange, referrals and emotional support;
• Strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills;
• French language fluency preferred.
  Post Name: Indigenous Crisis Counsellor
  Working in a fast paced environment and meeting multiple demands of residents, this First Nations-designated position works rotating shifts of 12.5 hours, with both day and night shifts required.
  Qualifications:

• Knowledge and understanding of cultural and traditional practices;
• Knowledge of the impacts of violence against women, an understanding of harm reduction;
• The ability to provide telephone and in person crisis counselling services including information exchange, referrals and emotional support;
• Strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills;
• Communication skills in Anishinaabemowin and/or French language preferred.
  Post Name: House Coordinator
  Works in a fast-paced environment to provide general shelter maintenance and support shelter function.
  Qualifications:

• Experience in facility management and maintenance;
• Excellent organizational and time management skills;
• Knowledge of occupational health and safety, universal precautions and food safety;
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Knowledge of the impacts of violence against women, an understanding of harm reduction;
• French language fluency preferred.
