The Institute of Applied Entrepreneurship (IAE) at Coventry University prides itself on its approach to enterprise and entrepreneurship and is a focal point for Coventry University in the field of innovation. Our aim is to provide students, staff and our wide range of stakeholders with access to high quality teaching, applied research and business support. The team are a very dynamic group and have specialists in project management, business support, consultancy and education. Additionally the IAE looks to develop commercial income generation opportunities regionally, nationally and internationally to build upon its reputation as a global leader in entrepreneurship.

The IAE now has an opportunity for 3 dynamic and motivated individuals to work on their commercial team supporting the delivery of an European Regional Development Fund open innovation project.
You will be contributing to the income generation/business development activities of the university by supporting activities associated with the securing and delivery of contracts from the commercial sector, the European Commission, UK Government and Regional Government. Your proven organisational skills will enable you to organise events, develop and maintain management systems.
Excellent presentation skills will facilitate your communication with customers. You will have demonstrable experience in developing effective relationships and working in the HE sector.

Research Support Assistant – Low carbon concrete

An exciting opportunity has arisen for the appointment of a Research Support Assistant to support the delivery of an EPSRC grant on “Low carbon concrete” within the Faculty of Engineering and Computing at Coventry University. You will be working under the supervision of Dr. Eoin Coakley on a research programme for the development of concrete mixes containing high volumes of fly ash as a cement replacement. You will also be expected to contribute to writing research grant applications and conference/journal papers.
You will have a good honours degree and/or Masters level qualification in Civil Engineering or other relevant subject, such as Materials. You should also have an up-to-date understanding of concrete technology and use of cement replacement materials. Experience in laboratory based investigations is desirable. A strong background in material chemistry would be highly beneficial.
You must be well motivated and capable of ensuring that project objectives are met and managed to a high quality and that deliverables meet their deadlines. Enthusiasm and passion are essential as well as good organisational, interpersonal/communication, independent and team working skills.
