Business Consultant, Financial Services Authority
About the FSA
The Financial Services Authority (FSA) is an independent non-governmental body which regulates all providers of financial services in the UK. In 2013, the FSA will become two new authorities – the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and the Prudential Regulatory Authority (PRA). This role will sit in the future FCA, and is a unique opportunity to play an integral role in the future regulatory structure for UK financial services by tackling the most strategic and regulatory change issues.
About the role
You will join the FSA’s Business Consulting Group (BCG), the FSA’s dedicated internal consulting capability which acts as an independent consulting partner across the full strategic, process and business change spectrum. As a Business Consultant, you will be at the forefront of all change taking place within the financial services regulator, working on either self-contained pieces of business consulting to deliver against the strategic objectives of senior stakeholders, or shaping and scoping ideas to turn them into viable project and programme propositions that can be subsequently implemented.
About you
To join us and be involved in driving business consulting and change at the highest level of financial services regulation, you will need to bring a proven background. With significant consulting experience from either an external client-facing or internal consulting organisation, you will have a demonstrable ability to partner with senior-level stakeholders. You will have extensive experience in developing strategic recommendations and improvements, combined with the deep problem solving and analytical skills to identify solutions to the most complex challenges. Working at the heart of UK financial services regulation, you will also need to bring a clear understanding of regulatory developments, ideally with first-hand knowledge and experience of current and future initiatives.
