SUMMARY
This position is responsible for coordinating and managing reliability for JLG product lines, from design phase through manufacturing, for existing and new products
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Failure modes and effects analysis, fault tree analysis, and safety analysis
Technical engineering specifications for material and components pertaining to the above analysis
Correlations of engineering test results to actual field usage
Component failure analysis
Probability and statistics
Component and system measurements and test design for performance, reliability, endurance/durability, and safety
Monitor and publish reliability growth through warranty costs, safety and field retrofitmeasurements, and improve system/information as required
Develop product and component test procedures and coordinate implementation of the procedures for validation of reliability and durability(both field and at JLG)
Responsible for prevention of product design failures through close liaison with engineering
Develop reliabilitygoals for products and components
Maintain a failure reporting and corrective action system(FRACAS)
Lead failure review boards(FRBs)
Provide technical input for overall reliabilityengineering planning at JLG
Participate inNPD teams
Obtain supplier component application approvals for new or revised components
Oversee and evaluate testing at outside locations
Maintain an SCAA database
Assist product support engineering with the resolution of current production issues
Update and create reliability documentation
Perform special assignments as required
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
3-plus years reliability & maintainability or finite element analysis experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Heavy construction equipment experience
Knowledge of heavy equipment structures, working knowledge of hydraulics and electrical reliability engineering
Knowledge of statistical methods
Manufacturing quality techniques, such as SPC, process flow, process FMEA and process specifications, collection and utilization of warranty data, field retrofit data and safety related issues
