NATIONAL GALLERIES OF SCOTLAND The General Manager is responsible for the delivery of the National Galleries of Scotland commercial activities including retail, venue hire and catering franchises. NGS Trading Ltd has a turnover of £1.7m of direct sales and a further £2.2m from catering which is contracted out. The General Manager is also responsible for the strategic development of existing and new income streams, development of the commercial brand and managing the resources of the company. The National Galleries of Scotland is an outstanding cultural institution with a high national and international profile. Experience in the development of a merchandising strategy and maintaining a strong customer/visitor focused approach is also important. DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT The Director of Public Engagement is an exciting new role which will lead and coordinate a range of public facing activities for the National Galleries of Scotland, including marketing, audience development and digital media. The objective is to expand the audience base of the National Galleries of Scotland across all of its sites and on-line; develop better services, a stronger engagement with the public and to fully exploit the potential of digital technology. The Director of Public Engagement will also oversee the management of NGS Trading Ltd and enhance its offer, revenue and profitability. The National Galleries of Scotland is an outstanding cultural institution with a high national and international profile. They have ambitious plans which will require not just the strengthening of ties with existing audiences but also the building of new ones. You will also be required to have broad relevant experience covering marketing and communications including online and digital options along with strong people and leadership skills.
