QUALITY ASSURANCE ENGINEER
A fast-growing Southern California high tech company specializing in advanced military defense, homeland security, and energy solutions is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer. The successful candidate will be responsible for assuring that POC’s various products meet the requirements per specifications, contractual/customer requirements, and associated drawings.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assists the Quality Assurance department and other team members who oversee the Quality Management System
- Verifies the accuracy or performance of the hardware/software programs.
- Ensures on-going compliance with the Quality Management System in accordance with ISO9001, AS9100C, and AS9110A & B
- Performs Internal Audits
- Verifies the accuracy or performance of the product and can perform a Failure Analysis Report.
- Analyzes failures, determines cause and responsibility, and initiates corrective actions on returned products as well as internal process failures
- Troubleshoots inaccuracies or problems and shares results and recommendations with team members.
- Assists with developing standards and procedures.
- Ensures customer’s needs are being met per functional specifications.
- Performs QA tasks including witness testing to assure that developed products meet design specifications and are within total quality management limits and standards.
- Ensures proficiency in using the various types of inspection equipment and visual inspection aids appropriate for the article being inspected.
- Assists in supplier audits / surveys and corrective actions.
- Utilizes Customer (Internal or External) feedback as an input to drive continual improvement.
- Verifies and validates information flowing down to suppliers and validates that the suppliers are responding with requirements.
- Performs other duties as necessary
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical / or related engineering field.
- Knowledge about SEI Capability Maturity Model Integrated (CMMI).
- Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) preferred.
- 7+ years of experience as a QA Engineer working with development teams in a hardware and software environment (preferably avionics)
- 3 Years of experience with testing & auditing using DO-178 B processes.
- Experience in creating formal quality, test and inspection plans and documenting results.
- Strong working knowledge and understanding of processes and methodologies.
- Experience with complete Hardware system analysis, design, implementation, testing, regression testing.
- Experience with hand tools to measure or inspect parts.
- Must be familiar with applicable Federal Aviation Regulations (Part 145, 43, 8130 tags).
- Knowledge of Configuration Management systems and processes.
- Proficient with inspecting (Receiving, In-Process, and Final Inspection methods and documentation).
- Knowledge of ISO 9001:2000/AS9100/AS9110.
- Experience with testing, failure reporting and analysis.
