Proposed Interview Dates: 13th February 2013

Basic Function: Research scientist to investigate the effect of fertiliser formulation and inclusion of urease and nitrification inhibitors on nitrogen uptake and herbage yield, nitrate leaching, N2O and NH3 emissions.

The project will establish N2O emission factors for fertiliser type, fertiliser rate and soil type. This holistic integrated project is possible because of the different areas of expertise and experience within the project team and contributes to the National critical mass in the area of nitrogen cycling in agricultural systems. Ultimately the project will provide valuable information on cost effective approaches to improve N use efficiency to support Government policy decisions on key environmental issues.
