The Cabinet Office’s Efficiency and Reform Group (ERG) was created in 2010 to act as the Chief Operating Officer function for HMG. The Group reports to the Minister for the Cabinet Office, with an Efficiency and Reform Board co-chaired by the Minister for the Cabinet Office and the Chief Secretary to the Treasury. The remit of the group is wide and includes the corporate functions and services typically found in the Group Headquarters of a conglomerate or multinational company: Procurement, Supplier Management, Property, Operational Excellence, Major Projects, Information and Communications Technology, Digital, Marketing and Communications, Public and Civil Service Reform supporting MI with expertise.
