You will define and support all desktop technologies and Audio Visual (AV) equipment across the University, and manage staff and overall operations of that technology to ensure the performance of the University’s ICT provision against agreed KPI’s and SLA’s.

Whilst managing a team of 16 staff responsible for the day to day technical activities you will act as the face of ICT when visiting customers. The team will also deal with 2nd and 3rd line technical support functions for the University’s ICT Services, pick up logged tickets, troubleshooting problems, solving issues, software deployment, application packaging, imaging development/deployment, escalating any unresolved calls to other teams whilst keeping all parties informed, and monitoring OLA’s & SLA’s. You will be responsible for ensuring that staff are meeting and exceeding expectations in performance and processes are followed to provide an effective ICT service.

You will have sound understanding of a mixed Novell and Microsoft environment, Novell E-directory, AD, Windows group policies, MS office packages, Cisco VC, PC’s, tablets, laptops, Macs, audio visual equipment and thorough knowledge of the Microsoft Windows family of operating systems.

Experience in line management, dealing with disk imaging with tools such as Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT), Ghost, Zenworks and/or LANDesk and AV issues are essential. As well as a relevant higher degree or professional equivalent.
