An opportunity has arisen for appropriately qualified and experienced candidate to work within a University and School with a well established reputation for excellence in teaching and research. You will join a highly motivated and supportive team and contribute to further enhancing teaching and research within a Department which delivers nursing, midwifery and other health related programmes.

You will be involved in the teaching and development of a range of undergraduate and postgraduate children’s nursing and health related programmes, including where appropriate, the supervision of doctoral students. You will also provide support to students and mentors within clinical practice areas.

A commitment to facilitating student centred learning and innovative approaches to children’s nursing education are essential. You should have knowledge of a broad range of contemporary nursing practice and research, and a special interest in community, public health nursing issues or advanced practice would be welcome.

You should possess appropriate professional qualifications, relevant post registration experience as a children’s nurse and a Masters degree, and should either have or be prepared to work towards a doctoral qualification and a recordable teaching qualification with Higher Education Academy recognition.

The School of Education and Professional Development is seeking a TESOL specialist with a record of research and teaching in the area of English for Academic Purposes to lead its postgraduate taught and research programmes in TESOL. This exciting post offers the opportunity to lead a growing area of the School’s research and teaching, to foster international partnerships and to develop bids for externally funded projects.

You will hold academic qualifications in TESOL or related subjects to masters level, a professional qualification in TESOL (London Trinity or Delta) together with a PhD or evidence of capacity and intention to register for PhD by research or by publication. You will also have a substantial profile in terms of research and publication in the area of TESOL/ESP, with an ability to maintain and raise this profile.

A reliable and conscientious person is required to undertake general administrative and clerical support within the area of student records, examinations, timetabling and attendance monitoring. You must have excellent keyboard skills and be proficient in packages such as Microsoft Office. Experience working with a student records package is essential as is the ECDL qualification. This area of work is within a very busy office environment and you must be prepared to work as part of a team, but, at times, must also be able to work under your own initiative.
