The School of Law is an ambitious and fast-growing School. It currently comprises 24 members of staff, including a Professor of International Business Law. Many members of staff are professionally qualified and the department has strong links with the law professional bodies and with the ICSA.

Our research development policy has helped us to build a vibrant, ambitious and inclusive research environment and we expect to make a submission to the Law unit of assessment in the 2013 REF. The School of Law is an established provider of undergraduate and postgraduate law degrees and has a growing reputation for the breadth of its clinical legal education. We are committed to delivering high quality research that underpins our teaching and continues to improve on the thriving research culture of our law staff.

Applications are invited from candidates in the areas of Family & Child Law and Equity & Trusts Law. An ability to teach in some or all of the following areas would also be desirable: English Legal System, ILEX Family Practice, ILEX Client Care Skills, and Land Law. They will also be able to demonstrate the ability to teach a range of English Law foundation subjects in addition to their particular subject specialism.

The School would welcome applications from those who have a track record in research or demonstrable research potential and/or substantial professional experience. You will be expected to make a contribution to the Department’s research profile and knowledge exchange activities, including the growing employability agenda. You will have drive and enthusiasm, and an innovative approach to research, learning and teaching. Support to develop teaching skills is available for less experienced staff.
