Electronics Technician – PEO C3T

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required. Minimum five (5) years actual and recent aircraft or vehicle, or missile experience required. Thorough knowledge of technical publications related to aircraft and missile electronics maintenance mandatory. Clarity of written and oral expression desired. Must have knowledge of the scopes and limitations of various categories of electronic maintenance (related maintenance functions) and their applications to the contract unit. Must know theory and principles of operation of engines, accessories and components, theory of flight and electronic flight controls, and a thorough knowledge of electrical and electronic principles. Must be capable of using and reading blueprints, wiring diagrams, and data tables. Must be able to
inspect, repair, and operate ground support and auxiliary equipment.
Good communications skills; requires operating application software including word-processing and spreadsheet programs. Position may require travel.
Must be able to pass/maintain a Security Clearance – active clearance is strongly preferred.
Job Description:
URS is seeking an Electronic Technician to provide acquisition support services the U.S. Army and the Program Executive Office for Command, Control and Communications Tactical (PEO C3T) in Aberdeen, Maryland and various other locations.
Inspects, trains other personnel and performs organizational, intermediate and depot level electronic maintenance/modification on contract units, subsystems and other weapon system components and support equipment. Advises other team members and solves unusual electronics problems by analysis and tests on various electronic, and electrical systems. Acts as a Special Technical Advisor to his Supervisor. Position reports to Field Supervisor.
This position is contingent and awaiting the contract to be awarded in January 2013.
Essential Responsibilities:
1. Applies advanced technical knowledge to solve unusually complex problems that typically cannot be solved solely be referencing manufacturers’ manuals or similar documents including determining the location and density of circuitry, evaluating electromagnetic radiation, isolating malfunctions, and incorporating engineering changes.
2. Requires a detailed understanding of the interrelationships of circuits.
3. Exercises independent judgment in performing such tasks as making circuit analyses, calculation of wave forms, and tracing relationships in signal flow.
4. Uses common and complex test instruments such as digital multi-meters, signal generators, semiconductor testers, curve tracers, oscilloscopes, high frequency pulse generators, frequency synthesizers, distortion analyzers, and complex computer control equipment.
5. Work may be reviewed by the Supervisor for general compliance with accepted practices.
6. Provides technical guidance to lower level technicians.
7. Maintains, repairs, and installs various types of electronic equipment and related devices such as electronic transmitting and receiving equipment (e.g., radar, radio, telecommunication, sonar, and navigational aids); micro and mainframe computers and terminals; and industrial measuring, controlling equipment, and industrial calibration devices.
8. Applies technical knowledge of electronics principles in determining malfunctions, and applies skill in restoring equipment operations.

Lead Virtualization Engineer
16 years of total experience with a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
8-10+ years hands-on virtualization experience.
VMware Certified Professional (VCP4) certification (required).
VMware Certified Professional (VCP5) certification (highly desired).
VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCPA4-DCD) certification (highly desired).
VMware Certified Design Expert (VCDX) certification (required).
Expert level knowledge of and experience with VMware 3.x/4.x (required).
Experience designing, implementing and supporting large VMware 4.x virtualized environments of at least 500 VMs (required).
Experience converting/migrating existing physical production systems to virtual instances (required).
Expert level knowledge of and experience with Site Recovery Manager (SRM), vSphere, High Availability configurations with vMotion and Storage Motion in a SAN environment and Disaster Recovery (required).
Experience administering Windows 2003/2008 servers (required).
Experience with administering RedHat UNIX servers (highly desired).
Experience administering SAN & NAS storage devices to included EMC and NetApp (highly desired).
Experience with blade systems (highly desired).
Experience integrating NetApp Snap with VMware (highly desired).

Responsibilities:
Design, implement, support, tune and trend a large VMware ESXi and ESX 4.1/5.x VMware infrastructure at the SEC site.
The existing environment consists of approximately 700 physical servers (Windows and UNIX) and a medium but rapidly growing VMware environment.
The successful candidate will have the skills necessary to evaluate the current virtual and physical environments, develop a plan to virtualize 90% of the physical infrastructure, implement the virtualization, support, trend and tune the resultant virtual environment.
Work effectively as a member of a team.
Maintain infrastructure configurations and diagrams.
Other duties as required.
Work location is based at the SEC in Alexandria, VA and occasionally other SEC locations as required.
