Would you like to be part of a globally recognized engineering organization, working in Partnership with the Royal Air Force of Oman? We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Finance Officer to Join our team. The role is based in our Muscat office but will require regular visits to Adam Airbase supporting the management team to deliver the contract within financial targets,

The successful candidate will be accountable to the Finance Manager and will be responsible for the financial control of the contract Including supplier invoices, variance analysis, departmental cost analysis, contract status reporting. 5 year annual business planning, tax returns and Implementation of cost saving Initiatives whilst maintaining Corporate Governance.

As a Finance Officer your main responsibilities will Involve (but are not limited to):-

•  Analyse the actual monthly expenditure against budget/forecast, by department.
•  Monitor trends and implement cost saving initiatives.
•  Assist the Major Work Element Owners to prepare the inputs to the quarterly Contract Status Report’s.
•  Assist the Finance Manager to prepare the annual accounts and tax packs prior to submission to the relevant authorities
• Assist in the reporting and monitoring of KPI’s including any abatement calculations.
• Review and seek approval of the cost recharges from our affiliated company who provides a support service.
• Calculate withholding tax deductions from suppliers and prepare the monthly return to the SGT
• Ensure effective financial controls are maintained in compliance with the Operational Framework. Financial Controls Framework and Finance Policies Manual.
•  Assist in compliance with internal and external audits.
• Assist the Finance Manager to produce local procedures and work instructions for all on-site activities
• Investigate, recommend and Implement process improvements.
• Support any transformation activities as required
• Assist in the Implementation of VAT in Oman and complete regular VAT returns to the SGT

As a Finance Officer your skills and qualifications will Ideally Include:-

•  Qualified accountant or part qualified accountant studying for an internationally recognized accountancy qualification.
•  Excellent skills in using Microsoft applications.
• Confidence to communicate and challenge at all levels within the organization.
• Experience of working within a multinational company.
• Excellent written and spoken English
• Experience of using SAP accounting systems

• Ability to work on own initiative
•  Ability to work to tight deadlines
• Possessing good levels of effective problem solving skills, you would also need to have strong motivational and interpersonal attributes.
• Business acumen is also important in order to influence, facilitate and implement change

Location: Muscat (with regular visits to Adam Air Base)
