Key Roles & Responsibilities of Head, Internal Audit:

• Responsible for the development of a risk-based approach internal audit annual plan and oversee the effective execution of the audit plan
• Provide reasonable assurance on the effectiveness of the organisation’s risk management and the robustness of its internal control system for compliance, financial reliability and operational efficiency.
• Lead the overall direction of the internal audit function and ensure the effectiveness and objectivity /independence of the function.
• Prepare and present audit report to the Board Audit and Risk Management Committee of the Bank.

Head, Internal Audit Job Requirements/Core Skills:

• Possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/finance/Banking or related field. Preferably with recognized Internal Audit Certification.
• A member of Institute of Internal Auditors Malaysia or any other professional body.
• At least 10 years of relevant working experience including at least 5 years of managerial experience internal audit function. Having background on banking financial services would be an advantage.
• Exhibit good business acumen, strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Demonstrate strong leadership capability and the ability to communicate effectively. (Excellent oral and written English)
• Results oriented and exhibit integrity.
