Fiji Sugar Corporation wanted Assistant Team Leader and Engineer

Fiji Sugar Corporation Limited invites applications from suitably qualified, innovative and self- motivated individuals who meet our requirement to take up the following roles:-

Post Name:- Assistant Team Leader – Electrical
The successful applicant will be based at the Labasa Mill and will report to the Team Leader – Electrical.

Principal Accountabilities:-

•  Assist the Team Leader Electrical in planning the installation, maintenance and repair of all mill electrical equipment in accordance with required standards, regulatory requirements and procedures.
•  Provide technical assistance to the team and inform management on areas needing attention.
• Ensure availability of documentation on workplace operating procedures.
• Assist the Team Leader in work plans, budget preparation, monitoring and providing management reports.

Qualifications and Requirements:-

•  A Diploma in Electrical Engineering or higher with minimum 3 years hands-on Industrial experience.
•  Sound knowledge of EFL requirements and relevant standards.
• Proficient in use of MS Word and Excel. Knowledge of MS Project/PowerPoint will be advantageous.
• Experience working in a PLC controlled environment would be an advantage.

Post Name:- Engineer In Training
Reporting to the Chief Engineer, the Engineer in Training will provide Engineering assistance to the various functions of the Engineering Department, particularly in the areas of;

• Civil Engineering
• Fabrication & Construction
• Mechanical Engineering
• Electrical Engineering

The successful incumbent will be based at one of the Corporation’s Mills at Lautoka, Barawai or Labasa.

Principal Accountabilities:-

•  Be committed to the job, enthusiastic to learn, hardworking and responsible, especially with their own safety and the safety of others.
•  Must be able to organize their time efficiently, identify project goals and plan to achieve them.
• Use their intellectual and analytical abilities to further their development in the engineering profession.
• Prepare project management documentation including project plans, Gantt charts and contract documentation for minor projects.
• Monitor and ensure compliance to required standards and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications and Requirements:-

•  Must have a Degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Civil or Diploma in the discipline of Fabrication/Construction, with some industrial work experience.
•  Good analytical skills with hands-on approach to problem solving.
• Knowledge of workplace legislation including OHS, Environment etc.
