Duties:-
Performs teaching, research and guidance duties in area(s) of expertise. Shares responsibility for committee and department assignments including administrative, supervisory, and other functions. Hunter Music would also like to explore ways in which it can create stronger links to the wider community. The Music Department includes fifteen full-time faculty in the areas of performance, music theory, ethnomusicology, musicology and composition. Our goal is to serve the entire spectrum of participation, from the pre- professional to the life-long amateur. We have approximately 240 music majors over several undergraduate and graduate degrees up the Master of Arts in music. We are situated on 68th Street and Lexington Avenue in the thriving upper east side of Manhattan.

Qualifications:-
An earned doctoral degree (Ph.D., D.M.A., or equivalent) in music performance and substantial evidence of an active career as a conductor, performer and successful teacher is required. Successful candidate will bring international experience as a professional conductor and performer to a team of performing artists whose goal is to offer the highest quality musical education within an intellectually rigorous, public liberal arts environment. The ideal candidate maintains a successful profile as a performer and can teach and recruit students for studio classes, preferably on a wind or string instrument, or percussion (not voice or piano).
