Knorr-Bremse RailServices are the specialist train service, maintenance, overhaul and upgrade division of Knorr-Bremse in the UK. We are currently recruiting for Semi-Skilled Engineers, based at Wolverton. As part of the recruitment process, you will be required to undertake maths and literature tests at Northampton College and attend a safety-critical medical, including drugs and alcohol testing.

Job title: Full Time Semi Skilled Engineer
Department: Vehicles / Components / Incident
Location: Wolverton
Reports to: Line Manager
Hours of Work: 37
Holiday Entitlement: 25 days + Bank and Public Holidays
Responsibilities:

  • Trained in the use in hand/power tools and mechanical handling equipment
  • Work as directed by Line Manager
  • Advise and inform of any defects found in the course of your duties.
  • Complete necessary paperwork according to Depot Procedures
  • Ensure that work is completed in a clean and tidy manner
  • Take care of all working property and handle it in a safe working manner, ensuring it is returned to its proper location.
  • Deliver and be responsible for quality of work undertaken and to required standards
  • Input of data (IT).
    Education Requirements:
  • Basic Education
  • Maths and English GCSE grade D (grade 3) or functional skills level 1 or equivalent.
  • A good communicator and possess a strong practical aptitude.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in an associated work role
  • Will be keen and enthusiastic and able to demonstrate team player skills
  • As a Semi- Skilled Engineer you will receive ongoing development over an 18 month duration which will include learning the skills and knowledge required to achieve an NVQ level 2 and Technical certificate in Industrial Awareness.
