Our client, a market leader in the financial service industry is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual for the role as Head of Investments based at their head office in Suva.

Reporting to the General Manager Investments (GMI), you will be directly responsible for managing all investments such as equities and fixed interest portfolio for the company. You will also assist the GMI with the management of the entire investment division which includes properties and property developments, the delivery of required returns in line with the company’s plans, investment mandates, policies and procedures.

Key responsibilities also include:-

•  Leading the Investment – Equities and Fixed Interest – team’s strategic and tactical planning in consultation with the GMI to achieve departmental and divisional goals.
• Identifying investment opportunities and make necessary recommendations as well as marketing and promoting to the target market.
• Delivering results as required under approved divisional business and strategic plans.
• Preparing required Executive and Board reports to support well informed decisions.
• Supporting and providing feedback to the GMI on the application of processes and recommendations for improvements.
• Establishing and maintaining relationships with external and internal customers.
• Managing the recruitment, development, retention, and organization of all Investment – Equities and Fixed Interest in accordance with corporate budgetary objectives and the company’s recruitment & selection policies.

Qualification and experience;-

1.  Degree in Business, Finance or related field with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar senior management role.
2. A post graduate qualification in a business field will be an advantage.
3. Highly developed technical financial and investment analysis skills, risk management and compliance.
4. Comprehensive knowledge of local investment market and financial services as well as investment risk management and competitors’ activities.
5. Good knowledge of offshore investment products.
6. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and proven stakeholder relationship skills.
