Lion One Limited is a subsidiary of Lion One Metals Ltd. – a Canada based gold mining exploration and development company, which is focusing on developing its fully owned Tuvatu gold mine project in Fiji. The Tuvatu project, which is located approximately 17 km from Nadi international airport, is an underground gold mine with process plant and tailings storage facilities.

Location: Tuvatu Project Site, Fiji
Reports to: Senior Underground Mine Engineer
Supervises: No Direct Reports

We are currently looking for a full-time Mine Engineer to work at our Tuvatu project site in Fiji. The successful candidate will report to the Senior Mining Engineer and be responsible for Designing, Planning, Reporting and assisting in implementing all underground engineering aspects. This role will be supported via a senior Expat mining engineer, this is a great opportunity for you to build your mine engineering skills with first world mining practices inside a new developing mine.

The Mine Engineers duties include:

• Medium to long term mine Planning
• Mine short term scheduling
• Design lateral and vertical development
• Design and monitor underground ventilation systems
• Design and implement drill and blast production stopes
• Assisting financial team with forecast budgets based on mine designs
• Preparing and presenting regular reports documenting mine production. Scheduling, and production forecasts
• Liaise with geologist, Surveyors and operations and operations to achieve optimum development profiles and recovery of ore from stopes
• Lateral, Vertical and Stope volume reconciliations
• Generating final mine models

Skills and Competencies:

• Metalliferous Underground Mine Engineer with experience
• Knowledge of underground narrow vein gold systems (desirable)
• Effective communicator at all levels of the business
• Strong problem solving, communication, and team participation skills
• Organizational ability to manage time effectively and complete jobs
• Demonstrated commitment to safe work processes
• Proficient use of mine planning software such as Deswik and Ventsim
• Computer literacy and business software skills
• A strong desire to learn and be part of a team of dedicated professionals

Qualification & Education:

• Degree qualification in Mine Engineering or equivalent
• Valid Manual Driver’s License
• Strong numerical and analytical skills
