St Josephs Home is a voluntary welfare organization with a Childcare Centre to promote inter -generational bonding for the seniors. Invitation for Cooks and Kitchen Assistants.

Job Summary:

•  Assist in ensuring that food quality and cooking techniques used are of high standard.
• Prepare and cook food based on assigned menu and recipes as instructed by Sous Chef, Junior Sous Chef and Chef De Partie.
• Ensure cleanliness of all areas in the kitchen.
• Required to put on clean uniform provided and maintain a neat and professional appearance at all times.
• Perform any other related duties assigned by Sous Chef, Junior Sous Chef and Chef De Partie.
• Able to perform shifts including weekend and public holidays

Requirements:-

1.  Certificate in major established food institution preferred
2. Able to speak, read and write simple English
3. Preferably understand and prepare some local dishes
4. Able to perform shifts including weekend and public holidays

Post Names:– Kitchen Assistants

Job Summary:

•  Report to section in charge for daily kitchen tasks including the smooth running of the section assigned.
• Prepare daily pre service set up and serving of dishes during meal time. After service, cleaning up.
• Perform cutting of vegetables, arranging stores, washing of crockery and cookware and other kitchen tasks assigned.
• Upkeep kitchen cleanliness and hygiene standards set by the Home’s requirements.
• Assist in the preparation of soft diet and puree meals.

Requirements:

1.  Primary Education and able to read and understand simple English or Mandarin (handle Mandarin speaking residents)
2. Positive working attitude and a team player
3. Able to perform shifts including weekend and public holidays
