TAD PGS Inc, We have an outstanding Contract position for a Senior Optic Electrical Engineer to join a leading Company located in Carlsbad, CA.

We currently have an opening for a Senior Optical-Electrical Engineer who enjoys researching, developing and delivering new high performance system solutions for telecommunication, sensing, medical and test instrumentation applications. If you enjoy working with optical hardware such as Erbium Doped Fiber Amplifiers (EDFAs), Optical Add/Drop Multiplexers (OADMs), Interferometers, Polarization Controllers and Fiber Bragg Gratings this is the ideal work environment. The chosen candidate will be responsible for breading boarding concepts, developing technology and delivering high performance, high reliability, miniaturized systems.
Major Responsibilities:-
- Work with a multidisciplinary team of scientist and engineers in a collaborative environment to support and develop new optical solutions.
- Demonstrate independent and creative scientific thinking, ability to solve complex problems, and resilience to setbacks and changes.
- Develop new generation state-of-the art solutions for government and commercial applications which maximize performance while minimizing size, weight and power (SWaP).
- Develop upto electronic & upto mechanical technologies by implementing commercial, modified and custom hardware components.
- Evaluate competitive products and new technologies aimed to enhance future products.
- Lead or assist a team of engineers to take system solutions through the full life cycle including concept, prototype, verification, test, integration and qualification.
- Create technical presentations in support of customer presentations, program milestone reviews and business development activities.
- Lead and coordinate multiple collaborative projects in a cross-functional program team environment.
- Support business development by writing and briefing proposals, responding to RFIs, writing white papers and participating in proposal reviews.
- Act as a scientific expert/consultant to the business development organization.
- Educate, mentor and train members of the technical staff on standard and new technologies in the field of fiber optics, free-space optics and related technologies.
Required Education:-
- A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent is required for this position.
Desired Qualifications:-
- Must be a team player.
- Extensive experience developing fiber optic and free-space optic communication systems.
- Experience developing fiber optic sensor systems.
- Experience with power over fiber systems desirable.
- Knowledgeable of industry standard optical,uptoelectronic & uptomechanical test equipment.
- Hands-on experience breadboarding complex optical systems and troubleshooting problems to meet performance requirements.
- Experience with waveguide modeling & data analysis tools such as Matlab, Zemax, Code V, FIMMPROP & FIMMWAVE.
- Experience with the design of experiments, standard testing practices, data collection, data reduction and associated signal processing techniques.
- Fluent in Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Excellent verbal, writing and presentation skills.
