University of Tasmania hiring for Dean at NSW Campuses

The University of Tasmania is building a vision of a place-based University. As well as campuses in Hobart, Launceston and Bumie in Tasmania, the University has three distinct campuses in New South Wales (NSW) in partnership with the Sydney Local Hospital District at Rozelle, with St Vincent’s Private Hospital at Darlinghurst and through the University’s Australian Maritime College (AMC) at Darling Harbour.

The Dean NSW is a key leadership role critical to the success of the University of Tasmania in NSW. The Dean is responsible for: the creation of an intellectually vibrant collegial and constructive culture where students and staff thrive; strong partnership engagement; and the identification of emerging and evolving opportunities in support of workforce requirements, curriculum innovation and business development. The Dean will represent and advocate for NSW campuses within key University forums and work with University Colleges and Divisions to support meaningful dialogue across the University.

To be successful in this role, you will be an accomplished transformational leader in higher education and /or health with sophisticated influencing and relationship development capability, demonstrated business acumen, innovative curriculum and course development skills, and high level strategic thinking and management capabilities. In addition, a deep understanding of contemporary trends in higher education as they relate to health and hearth service delivery in NSW would be viewed favourably.

This full-time position is located at the Rozelle campus for an initial period of five years. Regular travel to campuses in Tasmania and occasional overseas travel is expected. With the required academic credentials, the Dean may use the title of Professor.
