Applications are invited from qualified and experienced Science Laboratory Technicians for a full-time permanent position at SCEGGS Darlinghurst, commencing in Term 2, 2020. Applicants interested in a part-time position are also encouraged to apply and to indicate this in their application.

Reporting to the Head of Science, the school laboratory technician is responsible for managing and co-ordinating the efficient day to day operation of the Science laboratories, classrooms, storage and office areas. This includes setting-up daily activities, maintaining scientific equipment and ensuring supplies of materials, chemicals & equipment are available as needed. This role is also responsible for actively leading and supporting the requirements for Work Health and Safety of students and staff at the school, particularly with respect to Chemical Safety.

The successful applicant for this position will have extensive experience in laboratory work, within education or a similar field. They will be highly organised, able to prioritise and meet deadlines, have good written communication and interpersonal skills and enjoy working both independently and as part of a team. The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor of Science or other suitable qualification. A background in Biology or Chemistry is desirable. They will also be comitted to the full life of the school and supportive of its Christian ethos.
