Someries Infant School hiring for Administration and Finance Officer

Someries Infant and Nursery School are looking for a highly organized and effective team player who is able to develop school administration processes. Working alongside our School Secretary, you will combine your administration and finance experience to ensure the smooth running of the school office and ensure that a full and responsive support service is available to school staff and parents and carers. You will also be responsible for maintaining the school’s electronic financial information system and monitoring the school’s budget and accounts. You will have very strong written English.
The Head Teacher and Governors of Someries Infant and Nursery School are seeking to appoint an Administration and Finance Officer.

Starting as soon as possible
Salary: £15,906 – £17,410 a year
Contract: permanent
Working pattern: Term time plus 5 days (39 weeks)
Hours per week: 35 hours per week

For this post we are looking for someone who:

  • is a good communicator who is proficient in the use the Microsoft Office suite
  • can arrange meetings, take minutes and handle telephone calls with sensitivity and confidence, using initiative as required
  • can provide a full range of secretarial skills, inducing typing, copying, recording and filing
  • can manage diaries and handle associated administrative and organizational issues
  • administer the school recruitment, selection and appointment processes in collaboration with the senior leadership team
  • can assist in compiling a variety of reports, including financial reports, on a regular and ad hoc basis
  • can liaise with the school’s payroll provider and handle associated tasks and issues
  • can process orders and invoices
  • can accurately check deliveries and ensure the school’s stock areas are well resourced and maintained
  • can ensure the collection of monies is performed in accordance with agreed procedures
  • can set up and maintain electronic and paper-based filing systems
  • can provide first aid care to pupils, school staff and visitors (training will be provided by the school in this area)
    The successful post holder will be required to work as part of a whole-school team and will be required to support the values and ethos of the school and school priorities as defined in the school’s development and enhancement plan. This will mean focusing on the needs of pupils, parents and careers and colleagues and being flexible in a busy, pressurised environment. The role may include attendance at after-school events and school trips and visits throughout the year.
