Al-Najd Agricultural Development Company looking for a General Manager responsible for managing the overall performance of Al-Najd Agricultural Development Company, developing strategic plan to fulfill Company’s vision and mission. The responsibilities will also include achieving the strategic objectives, performance, and expansion targets, promoting revenue, and profitability.

The position holder will be accountable to the Board of Directors for fulfillment and implementation of all plans and policies. Represent the Company to Government and stakeholders.

  • Preparation and achievement of business strategy and business plan for the Company;
  • Top line and Bottom line of the Company;
  • Efficiency and sustainability of Company operations;
  • Effective integration of all functions;
  • Company finance and administration;
  • Customer satisfaction, and employee’s management and development.

Key Tasks

  • Oversee day-to-day operations
  • Determine the overall direction, strategy and goals of the Company.
  • Formulate the long-term objectives, plans and targets of the Company.
  • Translate the business plan into budget, goals and targets for the Mangers. Direct and coordinate their efforts and monitor achievement not the same.
  • Review activity reports and financial statements regularly and monitor farms performance continuously to ensure approved business plans are executed successfully.
  • Direct the growth and business development initiatives of the Company, ensuring adequate resources allocations.
  • Set out specific performance standards in key areas.
  • Guide and assist Mangers in all operational issues involving planning, coordination, adherence to target/work schedule, etc… to improve sustainability and increase profitability, consumer reach and productivity.
  • Evaluate performance of Mangers for compliance with approved policies and objectives of the Company and required performance goals and standards.
  • Coordinate with the Board of Directors for the evaluation of feasibility of new projects.
  • Develop and maintain contacts with stakeholders and competent authorities and major customers to further business interests.
  • Manage selection, development, measurement, motivation, cooperation, and termination of team staff.
  • Any other responsibilities entrusted by the Board of Directors.

Education Level – Minimum Requirement

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture
  • MBA or Master Degree in Agri-business or related fields is an added advantage.

Work Experience

Overall experience of at least 20 years in agribusiness of which a minimum of 6 years working experience as a Manger or 4 years as General Manger in crop production in the private sector (mandatory).

Skills

  • knowledge of fodder, bulb vegetables and grain sustainable production in hot dry climate;
  • Cultivation under central pivot irrigation and drip irrigation system over large areas;
  • Practical knowledge of mechanized farming.
  • Business acumen and commercial orientation
  • Strong management and business background
  • Knowledge of finance / production / operations management quality assurance and control, familiarity / comfortable with using statistical tools
  • Strategic planning and implementation
  • Examining and re-engineering operations and procedures
  • Develop technical, marketing, and financial plans, analyze, and interpret all related data
  • Knowledge of profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow management and general finance and budgeting.
  • Knowledge of corporate governance and general management best practices
  • Excellent leadership, project management and people management
  • Financial awareness to understand and interpret numbers
  • Excellent written & verbal communication / presentation skills
  • Excellent written and spoken skills in English.
