Position No: BC1147

We are seeking an experienced Control Officer to ensure the effective delivery of land use and development compliance services in protecting Blacktown’s natural and built environment in this permanent position. Responsibilities include inspecting and evaluating matters regarding existing development and illegal land use, responding to politically sensitive and significant compliance matters and practical application to relevant legislation and policies. You will also be involved in preparing field notes to assist investigations and issuing notices and fines with relevant legislation and procedures.

You must have experience in Town Planning or Regulatory Control and a Driver’s Licence. Experience in a local government environment and/or a good knowledge of local government operations and relevant Associate Diploma or Diploma qualifications would be advantageous.

There will be a medical examination undertaken, as well as alcohol and drug testing during the pre- employment phase.

Salary Range: $1,423.30 to $1,594 pw (Grade 12), 35-hour working week, leaseback vehicle, leave entitlements and 9.5% employer superannuation contribution

We are seeking a highly experienced individual to lead our Economic Development program and assist in significant strategic projects including transformational projects. You will be involved in connecting with the business community, building relationships, providing local government support and building local, regional and national partnerships in order to achieve a vibrant economy and community.

You must have degree qualifications in Economics/ Marketing/Urban Planning/Business Management, experience in economic development and managing complex projects, skills in research and analysis and a Drivers Licence. A Board Director’s accreditation by Australian Institute of Company Directors and experience in business management or business network management would be advantageous.

There will be a medical examination undertaken, as well as alcohol and drug testing during the pre- employment phase.

Salary Range: $1,858.90 to $2,082 pw (Grade 18), 35-hour working week, leaseback vehicle, leave entitlements, 9.5% employer superannuation contribution, gym membership discounts and more
