About the role:-

The CEO of CIL is a multifaceted role that encompasses a wide range of responsibilities. You will play a transformative role in shaping the future of the organization and the insurance industry as a whole. You will be responsible for driving innovation, fostering a culture of agility and adaptability, and leading the company towards sustainable growth and success.
To achieve these goals, you will need to challenge the status quo and redefine traditional approaches. You will also need to foster stakeholder relationships, ensure compliance, and lead all CIL operations including underwriting, claims management, risk assessment, and product development.
This is an executive position in the organization that reports directly to the Group CEO. You will work closely with all areas of the Capital Group to deliver outstanding outcomes and long-term performance.

Key responsibilities include:-

  • Strategic Leadership: Directing the strategic and operational transformation of CIL to drive growth and profitability.
  • Financial Performance and Growth: To grow CIL’s revenue and profit in all markets by implementing strategic initiatives, cost saving programs, and risk mitigation measures.
  • Expansion into New Markets and Acquisitions: Explore mergers & acquisitions and partnerships, identify new markets, and create new channels to grow the group’s operations in Fiji, Tonga and Vanuatu.
  • Customer centric focus and new products: Instill a customer-centric mindset throughout the organisation, leverage technology and implement a digital strategy to drive acquisition, retention, and a great customer experience.
  • Marketing and Branding: Implement a Capital brand story and narrative that resonates in CIL markets, create a best-in-market customer experience, and bring to life Capital’s goal of becoming an employer of choice.
  • Stakeholder Management: Establish strategic partnerships and alliances, build relationships with key stakeholders, and position CIL as the first-choice insurer for brokers and intermediaries.
  • Strengthening Infrastructure and Operations: Attract, develop, and retain a skilled and diverse workforce capable of delivering performance and strategy, while ensuring high-quality customer service, and standardized processes.
  • Reinsurance Management: Develop and implement CIL’s reinsurance strategy and program structure, manage risk exposures, monitor reinsurers’ performance, and conduct regular reviews to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Governance: Support the Board and GCEO in fulfilling fiduciary responsibilities and driving strategic decision-making by providing accurate and timely information, reports, and analysis, and leading CIL Board executive updates.
  • Risk and Compliance: Develop and implement a comprehensive compliance framework, manage risks, adhere to corporate governance, maintain relationships with regulators, and foster a culture of ethics and transparency.
  • Legal: Collaborate with the Group’s Legal team and external counsel to effectively manage any legal matters.

About you :-

  • Proven track record of successful leadership at the executive level in insurance.
  • Strong understanding of insurance products, markets, and regulatory environments
  • Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster relationships at all levels.
  • Demonstrated experience in driving financial performance and achieving growth targets.

Qualifications :-

  • 10+ years of management experience in general, medical, or life insurance
  • University degree in business, finance, actuarial science, or a related field (MBA preferred)
  • Professional insurance qualifications (desirable)
