Carpenters Fiji Limited has an exerting opening for dynamic and suitably experienced individual to join our team in the following role to be based in Suva.

Post Name: Manager Special Projects

Key Tasks and Duties:

• Ability to lead multiple projects.
• Effectively manage multiple competing projects and shifting priorities.
• Accountable for day-to-day project support for multiple project plans.
• Confer with the department head or assigned designee to determine basic departmental policies and operating procedures and coordinate implementation.
• Identifies and manages the design and implementation of activities related to the development of special projects.
• Assess departmental priorities and objectives and make action recommendations to the department head or assigned designee.
• Develop the operating budget for program specific special projects.
• Assist in the formulation of the annual departmental budget.
• Communicate with site supervisors about delays and any other issues that must be resolved.
• Conduct complex studies of projects and prepare reports.
• Coordinate and/or supervise the activities of personnel involved in the development and implementation of special projects.
• Perform other job-related duties as required.

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

– Relevant qualification in Project Management and experience in a similar field. Minimum of 7 years’ experience in event coordination and management. Ability to work independently and to manage projects and people. Highly motivated self-starter with an ability to effectively manage a range of projects in an environment with changing priorities. A variety of problem-solving techniques to assess needs and the ability to determine alternative viable courses of action. Excellent communication skills. Detail-orientated and highly organized. A team player and be willing to work odd hours.
