Post Name: Chief Executive Officer

After six successful years in the role, the incumbent is retiring and will leave a fantastic foundation, with a strong team and increasing membership for CCNZ’s next Chief Executive to continue to add further value to members. CCNZ has a position in the industry that provides a view which is respected as informed and often sought for opinion, and its new Chief Executive as the face of CCNZ, will play a critical role in ensuring this continues.

This is a hands-on leadership opportunity requiring interaction at grass roots level through to ministerial conversations. You will be a visionary, enthusiastic and driven leader who has political credibility and is a plain talker. You will need to demonstrate the flexibility and adaptability to manage the variety of responsibilities offered in this role, from leading industry discussion, to developing staff and managing real estate.

There are plenty of opportunities and challenges to sink your teeth into, including but not limited to industry shortages of skills and people, sustainability issues and major regulatory and structural changes impacting the industry.

• Proven ability of achieving organisational goals at an executive level
• Member value focus, with experience working in a membership organisation
• Commitment to proactive and regular member, partner and stakeholder engagement
• Outstanding sector advocacy skills and superb public relations skills
• Politically astute with an understanding of government processes
• Ability to think strategically, articulate and implement CCNZ’s vision
• Demonstrated financial and people management expertise
• Commercial acumen and well-developed negotiation skills
• Forward thinking, with the ability to identify and capitalise upon opportunities
• A consultative and open style with a ‘no surprises’ approach
• Savvy operator with proven integrity and transparency
• Civil industry knowledge and understanding would be an advantage
