Head, Executive, Inspector of Works Job Vacancies at CMS Cahya Mata Sarawak Berhad

Position 1: Head of Engineering (CMS Roads Sdn Bhd, Kuching)

Responsibilities:

• To ensure that the Division fulfils its obligation with regards to the quality requirements of the clients for all Civil Engineering works it implements;
• To initiate & prepare technical proposals, including Technical Designs & Drawings for Civil Engineering works, implement the same & providing timely progress updates to the Management & Clients;
• To ensure timely implementation & reporting of road works according to the current standards set by the Division & Clients;
• To assist the Management to identify, evaluate & recommend new Engineering technologies, equipment or systems, to enhance the Division’s operational efficiency;
• To ensure continuous training for engineering staff to keep them abreast with the current engineering practices in Civil Engineering works.

Requirements:

• Civil Engineering with at least 10 years’ experience in road construction & / or maintenance;
• A registered Professional Engineer (PE) with the Board of Engineers, Malaysia;
• Experience in preparing Engineering Designs & technical proposals for roads or highways & related Civil Engineering works;
• Have experience working with Civil Engineering Consultants & possesses the ability to critique Engineering Designs to ensure its technical integrity, practicality & economic viability;

Position 2: Audit Executive / Senior Audit Executive (Cahya Mata Sarawak Management Services Sdn Bhd, Kuching)

Responsibilities:

• To conduct financial, compliance, technical & operational risk-based audits across the Group;
• To provide value-added recommendations to achieve the right balance between risks & controls this will contribute to improved business profitability;
• To prepare quality audit reports or deliverables;
• To carry out risks / control assessments & develop risk-based audit plans;
• Assisting Audit Managers in the planning and preparation of internal / external quality assurance programmes.

Requirements:

• Recognized University Degree in Accounting, Finance, Engineering, and Quantity Surveying, IT and MBA or equivalent;
• Preferably a member of IIA, CPA, ACCA, MIA, CIMA, BEM, BQSM, ISACA or other recognized professional bodies;
• Strong Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint and Excel) & G Suite skills;
• 2 to 3 years of work experience (4 to 5 years for Senior Audit Executive position) in the relevant fields involving risk assessment & business process analysis;
• Proven capability to evaluate adequacy of risk management & internal controls;
• Senior Audit Executive must be able to lead an audit team, including planning assignment, resources and execution & staff development;
• Critical thinking skills, strong report writing abilities, organized including good interpersonal, problem solving & communication skills.

Position 3: Inspector of Works (Civil & Structure) (CMS Roads Sdn Bhd –Kuching & Sibu)

Responsibilities:

• Assisting supervision for the Civil & Structure works in accordance with Project specifications;
• Assisting to monitor all site activities such as to collect facts, keeping incident reports / records and preparing progress;
• Assisting to monitor / to ensure effective implementation of site safety measures are properly executed by the Works Contractor on site;
• To ensure the items in defects are rectified / inspections of the works completed;
• Assisting in coordination of site matters;
• Additional tasks as and when required.

Requirements:

• Diploma or Certificate in Civil Engineering or equivalent;
• Registered with Board of Engineers (BEM) as Inspector of Works;
• Minimum of 2 years working experience in construction supervision and related fields;
• Proficient in written & spoken English & Bahasa Malaysia;
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications with Project Management Software an advantage;
• Proactive, creative, innovative & results oriented;
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
