EcoHealth Alliance is looking for Wildlife Veterinarian

EcoHealth Alliance is seeking a Wildlife Veterinarian to join our Malaysian team. The position is a 1-year renewable contract with EcoHealth Alliance. The successful candidates will work all over Peninsular Malaysia and Sabah with sampling trips in remote and challenging locations requiring several weeks in the field.

The successful candidates will join our team during trips to trap and sample free-ranging wildlife and sample Iivestock and domestic animals for disease diagnostics and novel pathogen screening. They will be supervised by our Country Coordinator and Field Manager and will work closely with both Sabah Wildlife Department and PERHILITAN.

Wildlife Veterinarian Qualifications

Veterinary Medicine degree with wild animal handling, fieldwork and laboratory experience, preferably with primates, bats or rodents, will be able to lift 20kg and trek up to 10km in the forest. Open to Malaysians fluent in Malay and English who are self-driven, motivated to learn new skills, and comfortable with public speaking, have a strong sense of team spirit, cultural sensitivity and excellent communication skills.

Monthly Salary      – RM 4000.00 – RM 5500.00 (depending on experience)
