Post Name: Executive Director, Office of the Commissioner

• New SES Band 2 executive leadership role
• Direct report to Commissioner
• Lead agency for fire, rescue and hazardous materials incidents

The Executive Director, Office of the Commissioner is a new role, responsible for developing and leading a high performing, multi-disciplinary team. The role will be responsible for designing improvements to service delivery across FRNSW’s corporate and operational areas.

The role will lead 6 main functional areas across FRNSW including:

• Governance and legal services (including audit)
• Communications (internal and external media/marketing)
• Organisational planning and performance
• Secretariat and business support functions, supporting the Commissioner and the FRNSW Executive Leadership Team (ELT)
• Operational Assurance and Improvement
• Program Management Office

The role is also responsible for leading Government Relations and stakeholder engagement for FRNSW including with the Minister’s Office, Emergency Services Organisations and stakeholder agencies.

High quality candidates will have relevant graduate tertiary qualifications in business management or a related discipline, and experience in leading in a multi-disciplinary portfolio role at a senior executive level. Specific experience should include as many of the functions listed above as possible. The successful candidate must demonstrate high personal integrity, and have highly advanced leadership capability in communication, influence and negotiation, strategic thinking and problem solving, managing and developing people, and managing reform and change.
