Haisla Nation Council job vacancy for Director of Human Resources
Haisla Nation Council has an immediate opening for Director of Human Resources.
Post Name:- Director of Human Resources
Duties:
- Work with the Chief Executive Officer in the development, implementation, and management of all projects to improve human resources systems, practices, contract negotiations, labour relations, resources, and programs including but not limited to: a human resources recognition program, a standard compensation program, return to work program, and team building programs;
- Lead and work with the Chief Executive Officer in the development, implementation, and management of all human resource policies, including but not limited to: Haisla Nation Council Human Resource Policy and the Haisla Nation Council Employee Personnel Policy and Manual;
- Provide leadership, oversight, and human resource guidance to the Human Resource Manager, managers, and employees with respect to preparing reports, evaluations, employee contracts, and organizational charts;
- Provide leadership, oversight, and human resource guidance to the Human Resource Manager, managers, and employees to ensure there are clear job descriptions and duties for all employees, and that evaluations are completed based on those job descriptions;
- To follow the HNC employee personnel policy and manual;
- Other related duties as assigned by the Chief Executive Officer.
Qualifications:
- University degree in Human Relations, education, or related experience;
- Certified Human Resources Professional designation;
- At least five (5) years of experience in a senior human resources role;
- Proficient in computer and Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel and Outlook;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
- Ability to work in a busy environment and maintain confidentiality;
- Willing and able to pass a Police Information check;
- Must possess a valid BC Driver’s license;
- Knowledge of Workers’ Compensation Board regulations;
- Knowledge of Indigenous and Northern Affairs Canada policies and procedures, Human Rights legislation, Labour Canada regulations, and knowledge of union agreements.
- Willing and able to pass a criminal record check.
