Regional Investment Senior Advisors Job Opening at Ministry of Maori Development Wellington

Post Name: Regional Investment Senior Advisors

The Regional Investment Senior Advisors are newly established and have been setup to support the successful delivery of our investment programmes across the motu.
We are seeking six Regional Investment Senior Advisors who will be based in our regional offices but report centrally to the Team Leader Investment Planning and Support based in National Office in Wellington. To be able to support the rohe the Regional Investment Senior Advisor will need to understand the local landscape, as well as:

  • Champion and promote Te Puni Kokiri investment strategy.
  • Take a business partner approach to understanding the context of the region and supporting regional staff with investment opportunities to ensure investment practice is maintained.
  • Promote best practice funding and contracting processes and systems.
  • Provide advice and support to regional staff on the parameters and requirements of investment programmes and initiatives.
  • Provide quality assurance advice to Regional Directors across investments.
  • Provide regional insights to the portfolio teams to support investment improvements.

To be successful you will have:

  • An ability to identify, build and actively manage relationships, valuing diverse perspectives and experiences.
  • Comfort in working in a tikanga / kaupapa Maori environment a degree of fluency in Te reo Maori is of benefit
  • Excellent communication skills and strong critical reasoning.
  • An understanding of best practice contracting processes.
  • An ability to promote and champion best practice contracting processes.
  • An understanding of government and public sector processes.
  • The ability to identify and manage risks and issues.
  • Demonstrated capability in providing high quality advice and recommendations.
  • Numeracy and competency with spreadsheets and databases.
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly across the designated Te Puni Kokiri region.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification.
  • A clean full motor vehicle driver’s license.

  • Tamaki Makaurau Region – Auckland
  • Waikato-Waiariki Region – Tauranga or Whakatane
  • Ikaroa-Rawhiti Region – Gisborne or Hastings
  • TeTai Hauauru Region – Porirua or Whanganui
  • Te Waipounamu Region – Christchurch
