Nelson Community Foodbank is a registered charity that operates on the generosity of the community and its volunteers. The Foodbank is looking for a Manager to oversee the day to day running of the Foodbank, which operates 5 days a week (Monday to Friday) delivering 1500 parcels last year.

Manager Job Vacancy at Nelson Community Foodbank, Nelson New Zealand

The role is a paid position, 20 hours per week, fixed term for 2 years. The position is based at Tahunanui Drive.

The main responsibilities of the role include;

• The daily operations of the foodbank
• Purchasing, and stock control
• Provide leadership to the volunteers
• Oversee the volunteers, including recruitment and training
• Liaison with suppliers, agencies, stakeholders and donors
• Manage the financial requirements of daily operations; invoicing, banking, managing budget, fundraising as required
• Monthly reports to the Board of Trustees
• Oversee the Health & Safety of the Foodbank and volunteers

Desired attributes:

• Be an honest person with a professional approach to your work
• Good organizational skills
• Strong communication skills
• Computer literate
• Have some knowledge of food and safe food handling
• Be physically fit enough to handle boxes of food and food parcels
• Hold a current “Clean” full NZ Drivers License.
