Post Name: Senior Manager, Commercial and Procurement
Location: Kuching

To drive and manage the overall operations of Commercial and Procurement Department through development and communication of key commercial initiatives and manage all resources available to achieve maximum results whilst maintaining good rapport with the vendors, suppliers and employees by attending meetings, negotiation or any relevant discussions whenever required.

Requirements:

• Candidate must possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional qualification including but not limited to Business Management, Procurement and / or Supply Chain Management.
• Preferable to have a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience with a track record of delivery of successful sourcing projects and contract management.
• Possess strong negotiation and influencing skills.
• Exposure to ERP or any procurement system.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects / tasks effectively.
• Independent self-driven, effective team player and dedicated with a high sense of integrity.
• Willing to travel.

Job Responsibilities:

• Oversee the Commercial & Procurement Department and ensure the integrity of the processes for procurement of goods and commercial services in accordance with the values and strategic direction of the Company.
• Establish an overall Procurement strategy which identifies, prioritizes, evaluates, and manages procurement needs and opportunities.
• Establish and enhance supplier relationships to drive sourcing and supplier initiatives to meet or exceed product quality, service and deliver sustainable cost reductions. Ensure all vendors / suppliers comply with government regulations and company policies and requirements.
• Evaluate the challenges faced by the business and take action to mitigate risks and develop opportunities.
• Oversee overall contract management process, from drafting of contract negotiating new projects and contract terms, managing vendors, liaising with legal consultants etc. In addition, be able to assess potential risk from commercial and contractual perspective for new contracts as well as current contracts on hand.
• To set up pre-qualification and registration of approved vendors and continuously assess the list of approved vendors.
• Lead the Vendor Performance Review Committee meeting on vendor performance appraisal identifies corrective actions to mitigate the recurrence of vendor performance issues and elevate issues to Management if required.
• Prepare and manage the annual budget and forecasts and all Capital Expenditure proposals taking into account the timely and optimal cost efficient goods and services from approved vendors and monitoring the costs to ensure within the approved budget and forecast.
• Develop policy and procedures for FMT site visit auditing process for contract and procurement compliance and process.
• Provide coaching and mentoring for staff to perform procurement functions.
• Provide advice, guidance and information on the commercial and procurement, costing, budget, governance and regulation to the Senior Management to deliver on the objectives of the Company.
• Undertakes any duty other duties as and when required by superior.
