Rogers Foods is leading BC flour and food processors with two mill/processing locations. We produce high quality, competitively priced, specialty flours, cereal and value-added grain based products. Our products are distributed throughout North America and exported to Pacific Rim countries. We are currently accepting applications for the position of Human Resource Coordinator based out of our Armstrong Division.

Post Name: Human Resource Coordinator

General Purpose:
The Human Resource Coordinator provides confidential administrative support to the Human Resources Manager and Payroll/Benefits Administrator within a manufacturing and corporate office environment, which is made up of a combination of unionized and non-unionized employees.

Responsibilities:

  •  Provide assistance to the Human Resources Department in support of company objectives.
  • Be regularly involved in payroll/benefit administration functions including the accurate completion of T4’s, month ends and year end reports and WCB reporting requirements.
  • Assists with the set-up and administration of benefits.
  • Assist in the coordination of company wide recruitment and selection activities including internal and external job postings, screening applications, assessment testing, setting up interviews, reference checking, initiating new employee sign up documentation and participating in new employee orientations as required.
  • Assists with the updating of Job Descriptions Company wide.
  • Coordinate and maintain the company’s long service and employee recognition programs.
  • Assist with the department’s involvement in Occupational Health & Safety Activities as required.
  • Assists in the coordination of Employee Satisfaction Surveys, compiling statistical results, developing summary reports for management and follow-up activities.
  • Provide labour and employee relations support as required.
  • Assist with Corporate Human Resource initiatives.
  • Maintains the HRIS training database and brings forth certification expiry dates, i.e. First Aid, Forklift.
  • Carries out additional duties and projects as assigned.
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) while performing tasks in production areas.

Requirements:

  •  Post-secondary education with a Human Resource focus, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5 to 7 years of related professional experience.
  • Excellent understanding of Employment Standards, Human Rights legislation and relevant employment legislation, CRA legislated payroll requirements.
  • Analytical and problem solving skills to assess issues and develop and recommend effective solutions
  • Knowledge of Human Resource and Payroll Information Systems.
  • Either a Certified Human Resources Professional designation (CHRP), Canadian Payroll designation (CPM), or Employee Benefits designation (CEBS) is required.
  • Training and/or experience in Occupational Health & Safety is an asset.
  • Travel is a requirement of the position.
