RPA Group Fiji Limited looking for the posts of Technical Assistant, Project Manager and Engineer for Civil works at Fiji.

RPA Group Post Name: Technical Assistant

Responsibilities:

– When technical officers are not overseeing schedules, they use their expertise to give hands-on support to workers
– Draft detailed dimensional drawings and design layouts for projects and to ensure conformance to specifications
– Create graphical representations
– Calculate dimensions, square footage, profile and component specifications, and material quantities using calculator or computer
– Read and review project blueprints and structural specifications to determine dimensions of structure or system and material requirements
– Confer with supervisor to determine project details such as plan preparation, acceptance testing, and evaluation of field conditions
– Inspect project site and evaluate contractor work to detect design malfunctions and ensure conformance to design specifications and applicable codes
– Report maintenance problems occurring at project site to supervisor and negotiate changes to resolve system conflicts
– Prepare reports and document project activities and data

Requirements:

  1.  Graduate Diploma in Civil Engineering or above
  2. At least 1 year of experience in Road Infrastructure
  3. A driver’s license may be required.
  4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Post Name: Project Manager

Responsibilities:

– Will be responsible for controlling the time, cost and quality of construction projects.
– Plan and coordinate all aspects of the construction process.
– Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills
– Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
– Developing project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
– Ensure resource availability and allocation
– Develop a detailed project plan to track progress
– Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs
– Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques
– Report and escalate to management as needed
– Perform risk management to minimize project risks
– Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation

Requirements:

  1.  Bachelors degree in civil engineering.
  2. At least 5 years experience in Road infrastructure and project management
  3. A full driver’s licence is required

Post Name: Project Engineer

Responsibilities:

– General Contract and Subcontract administration
– Monitor and document job site safety and accident prevention Construction Scheduling
– Material & Equipment – procurement and expediting
– Mechanical, electrical and piping systems coordination
– Shop drawing and submittal review and coordination
– Project cost review, reporting, updating and accounting
– Review of subcontractor applications for payment
– Participation in and documentation of project coordination meetings
– Supervision and coordination of subcontractors field installations
– Review and negotiate change proposal pricing from subcontractors
– Prepare change proposal pricing for self-performed work
– Change order documentation and associated cost reporting and maintenance
– Research and suggest options on construction means, methods and equipment
– Maintenance of As-Built plans
– Quality control
– Project Closeout
– Implement all applicable Safety Programs

Requirements:

  1.  Bachelors Degree – Construction Management, Engineering
  2. 5 years of road infrastructure industry experience
  3. Drivers licence
