Sarawak Fertilizer Sdn Bhd SFSB was incorporated in 2005 and it is the first compound fertilizer plant in Sarawak. Its factory is located at Kidurong Industrial Development Area (KINDA) in Bintulu. In 2011, SALCRA was approved by the State Cabinet to take over the company and the management to supply fertilizer requirement for all SALCRA’s estates and for sales to third parties. Upon taken over the old factory facilities was demolished and a new NPK Compound fertilizer factory with China Technology was built in 2016.

The compound fertilizer is traded under the brand name of “KENYALANG” (brand 1 & brand 2 show the photo here) which is registered with the Malaysia Trade Mark.

We are seeking for suitable candidates to fill in the position below

Post Name: Chemist -1 position (Factory Bintulu)

• Candidate must possess at least Bachelor’s Degree in Science of Chemistry or equivalent.
• A registered Chemist and member of Institut Kimia Malaysia (IKM)
• Minimum of five (5) years working experience in similar field.
• Has direct experience in establishing and maintaining MS ISO/IEC 17025 will be an advantage.

Job Descriptions:

• Assures reliability of analytical results and evaluates accuracy and precision of the analytical results. Plan, implement, evaluate and review analytical method performance to ensure the lab capability is meeting the expectation.
• Responsible for the validation, establishment, modification and implementation of new or existing equipment / methods in the chemistry laboratory and have a good understanding of equipment / methods used.
• Establishes and review daily work plan of the laboratory activities to ensure samples are analysed and analytical results are meeting the set deadline.
• Ensure good inventory control on stock and supply of reagents and materials needed for analysis.
• Maintains good work discipline in his / her lab. Established work performance plan of staff and conducts review regularly with them. Appraises their performance on an annual basis.
• Study and recommend to the Management on the improvement of quality and work methods to reduce cost and improve efficiency of Laboratory.
• Investigate customer complaint, monitor corrective action and follow-up effectiveness of CAR implementation.
• Quality Analyst-Good analytical mind set, able to identify quality trend and flag quality related risk.
• Conduct lab training to QA and QC lab personnel.
• Prepare annual budget and close monitor on expenses for Laboratory Department.
