This event is the International Botanical Drug and Expo and is the pre-eminent annual research event for the field convened by Eman Research Ltd in association with the Sarawak Convention Bureau (SCB) and leading research institutions around Malaysia and Australia.

Job Recruitment for Research Assistant at Sarawak Biodiversity Centre SBC

We invites highly motivated and qualified candidates to till the following position:

Position: Research Assistant, Ql9 – Contract (2 years)
Traditional Knowledge Documentation Programme (Project Basis): 1 Vacancy
Salary Schedule: Q19
Minimum Satan (RM): 1,355.00
Maximum Salary (RM): 4,007.00
Yearly Increment (RM): 100.00

The successful candidate will be expected to carry out and assist in the following tasks:

• field trips and capacity building workshops with the communities
• inventory, collection, propagation and documentation of plants
• essential oil distillation with communities
• experiments related to propagation of plants

Qualification/Requirements:

• Candidate must have a SPM/SVM/MCE certificate in science stream or equivalent qualification recognized by the Government. Only candidate with SPM/SVM/MCE will be considered.
• Credit (at least Grade C) in Bahasa Melayu, Mathematics and all Science subjects (Biology, Chemistry & Physics) at SPM/SVM/MCE level.
• Candidate must have a good command of English and Bahasa Melayu language (spoken and written).
• Computer literate i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel and email
• Physically fit (able to work in the field/outdoors, walk/hike in the forest and able to travel outstation when required).
