Post Name:- Customs Manager

About the role:-

Managing the Customs department and lead the team effectively to ensure that service delivery and financial management targets are met to make Swire shipping the customers’ Partner of Choice.

Some of the key responsibilities and accountabilities:-

•  Ensure Customs team is suitably skilled and competent to perform their jobs as per their job descriptions, have ability to customs clearance and deliver goods in timely manner.
• Ensure department SOP’s are in place for effective functioning of the Customs department
• Provide accurate quotations for customs enquiries, ensuring the response time to enquiries is less than 24 hrs
• Audit Customs team entries to ensure accurate assessments are being done and review incorrect assessments for learning purposes to reduce repeat errors
• Ensure any queries, claims or refunds are reviewed and lodged within the agreed time frame and followed up and closed off timeously.
• Ensure the Team attends regulatory training’s and In-House Trainings
• Act as a Customs Consultant in all Customs Clearance enquiries
• Responsibility for all invoicing and debtor management for the Customs department
• Growing the Customs department revenue by finding new business opportunities
• Review and respond to customer complaints and implement corrective action where needed
• Preparing monthly Reports for the department by analysing revenue streams and comparison against Previous Month and Budget.

Skills / Experience required:-

Diploma in Business Customs and Degree in Management would be an advanced. Minimum 10 years’ experience in Customs clearance and deliveries. Vast knowledge of Customs processes and compliance. Highly developed communication, presentation and negotiation skills. Good analytic skills. Valid Customs license (process and assess SAD’s). Current Driver’s license. Proven experience in logistics management. Positive can do attitude and commit to our organizational values of humility, integrity, excellence, continuity and teamwork.
