Te Hauora Runanga O Wairarapa Inc is hiring Community Mental Health & Social Services Roles

Te Hauora Runanga o Wairarapa was established in 1985 as a community support service for Māori Health in the Wairarapa region. It grew from initiatives developed by Māori Health workers seeking to establish a more focussed approach to the delivery of Community health services. Te Hauora has maintained extensive networks, both with Māori and non-Māori providers and community, and it adopts a “Kaupapa Māori” approach to support.

And it is a Kaupapa Maori health service, providing community mental health, addiction support and social services across the Wairarapa region. We’re running new programmes due to new and expanded contracts, and as a result need to recruit for several roles.
We offer a supportive environment with a team who are whanau friendly and run weekly matauranga Maori and te reo sessions for all staff. Study leave is available if you are training in a relevant field.

Creating wellness for our communities, we work with whanau and tangata where there is stress, distress, and trauma, to develop hope and support. Our services include youth mental health, Whanau Ora, rongoa services, community mental health, alcohol and addiction services and developing resilience for those who have experienced family violence trauma. Whanau ora is our success measures.

• Kaimahi ‘Access & Choice’ Community Worker
• Clinical Community Worker (Nga Kete program)
• Matauranga Hauora Community Worker (Nga Kete program)
• Whanau Resilience Community Worker
• Whanau Ora Community Worker
• Youth Mental Health Community Worker (o. 5 FTE)
• AOD – Alcohol & Addiction Practitioner (secondment or fixed term to end of February 2023)
