Animals Fiji is a registered Fiji and U.S. 501(c)(3) charity with a focus on animal welfare and veterinary care. We operate veterinary clinics in the Western and the Northern Divisions of Fiji. We ensure animal services and education are available to people throughout Fiji.

We provide basic veterinary treatment, emergency care and animal welfare education for pets, livestock, and wildlife.

Post Names: North Manager & Veterinary Nurse

The Northern Manager & Vet Nurse is responsible for overseeing all aspects of our animal welfare charity’s Northern Division Clinics, including reception, schedules, surgery/consultations, outreach clinics, and finance. They ensure effective communication of reporting from our Northern Outreach Clinics in Vanua Levu to our Head Office in Nadi.

Qualifications Required:

• A degree in Veterinary Nursing or Technician qualifications
• Experience in veterinary practice including outreach / remote sterilization clinics

Duties & Key Accountabilities:

• Promote and draw attention to Animals Fiji’s animal welfare work within the local community and nationwide.
• Represent Animals Fiji on negotiations on the organization’s duties & responsibilities within each location and as a whole for Animals Fiji Northern Outreach.
• Effectively on an on-going basis evaluate the sustainability of clinics in Labasa & Savusavu and in the communities.
• Make sure that basic animal care information is made available to customers, government agencies/ departments, and other local counterparts.
• Ensure effective money management, scheduling, and staffing.
• Create, grow, and maintain Animals Fiji’s supporters, clients, and donators in the region.
• At times, assist veterinarians medically in surgeries or otherwise.
• Manage a team and work as a cohesively with the Outreach Veterinarian(s) and 1-2 Veterinary Assistants and Receptionists.
