FTRA Fiji Teachers Registration Authority is the Secretarial to the Fiji Teacher Registration Board (FTRB). FTRB is a government statutory body established to manage the Teacher Registration as per the Fiji Teachers Registration Act 2008.

Applications are invited from suitable qualified candidates for the following vacancy at the FTRA:

Position: IT Officer
Core Responsibilities:
IT Duties:

• Installing and configuring computer hardware operating systems and applications
• Cloud Back Up knowledge
• Arrangement of Virtual Meetings via zoom, Microsoft team etc.
• Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and network
• Provide database administration: support review & SOP update
• Maintain adequate security of data by implementing, monitoring and auditing appropriate security policies.
• Undertake upgrade and conversion projects as required.
• Manage problems escalated to third-party suppliers/providers.
• Actively contribute and participate in all disaster recovery processes
• Produce reports in line with performance indicators.
• Diagnose and resolve technical hardware and software issues involving internet connectivity, email, phones, computers, multimedia and other IT gadgets
• Redirect IT related problems to appropriate resources
• Review and update the Authority ‘s web page
• Provide support needed in development of newsletters, annual reports and any other electronic advertisements.
• Provide technology related induction and support to new and existing employees
• Logging and processing support calls
• Managing slocks of IT related equipment’s
• Keep track of all IT equipment’s

Registration Duties:

• Assist in awareness programs for FTRA by designing banners, advertisements etc.
• Verify all data and forms received from schools via FESA
• Upload all details using Photoshop in the ID Card Drive & Process ID cards
• Create a proper database and back up for ID card data including reporting
• All Registration information on shared drives to be backed up daily
• Maintain the FTRA Server
• Any other tasks as assigned by the CEO.

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

• At least a Degree in Information System from a recognized tertiary institution
• At least 3 years professional experience in IT related discipline
• Experience in supporting Windows environment and Active Directory, router and switch administration, installation and configuration of software and hardware
• Excellent communication skills both written & verbal
• Dedicated, maintains confidentiality, be willing to work longer hours when required and able to work independently
• Have a good knowledge of statutory body operations
• Experience in the field of Professional Registration would be an added advantage
• Salary Range – $28,000 – $35,000
