Manuka Street Hospital (MSH) is the Nelson region’s only private surgical hospital, performing approximately 3000 procedures per year. MSH is nearing completion of a major redevelopment – In 2022 we will have four operating theatres with up-to-date technology, a 10-bed PACU, 10 Day-stay spaces, new Central Admissions unit, and a modern Theatre Sterilisation Unit (TSU). MSH is Ministry of Health certified, providing a wide range of surgical procedures for both privately funded patients and those having procedures through medical Insurance or ACC.

Post Name: Theatre – Second-in-Charge (0.9-1.0 FTE)
We invite suitably qualified and experienced Registered Nurses to apply for the next step on your career progression pathway. This role assists our Theatre Manager with the smooth running of our four theatres.

Post Name: Registered Nurses – Ward 0.5 FTE / 0.7 FTE and Casual
We have a number of positions in our Ward for Registered Nurses, providing cover for all rostered shifts (Monday-Saturday) with some Sunday work. Have a chat with our Charge Nurse Manager about hours that may suit you.

Post Name: Central Admissions Unit – Registered Nurses 2x 0.6FTE / Clinical Coordinator 0.8FTE
Our new Central Admissions Unit opens in January 2022. We are looking for nurses to provide a high quality admission service for all patients being admitted to our hospital. These are Monday-Friday day shift roles, with flexible start and finish times. Applicants should have a can-do approach and problem solving skills to assist this service to evolve and develop.

Post Name: Theatre – Registered Nurses 0.6-0.8 FTE / RNAA and/or Anaesthetic Technician 0.8FTE
With our new theatre coming on line in 2022, we need a new team to support our surgeons and anaesthetists. Give our Theatre Manager a call to see if we have the working arrangements that would suit you.

Post Name: Infection Control Nurse 0.5 FTE
This is a permanent, part-time senior nursing role within the Hospital reporting to the General Manager. The successful applicant will be a Registered Nurse with infection control experience; a post-graduate qualification is desirable. The applicant will need excellent communication, IT and report writing skills.

Post Name: Oncology Nurse 0.2 FTE
This is a part-time role providing residents of Nelson-Tasman who require non Pharmac-funded chemotherapy as non-first-line treatment. The service is supported by three local Oncologists. The Registered Nurse will have experience in providing oncology infusions; a post-graduate qualification is desirable.
For nurses wanting more hours in the Oncology or Infection Control roles, extra hours may be available in our Surgical Ward Central Admissions Unit or Theatres.

Post Name: Central Admissions Unit – Receptionist 0.8-1.0 FTE
We are looking for a person with a mature outlook, great customer service skills and computer skills to “be the face” of our new Central Admissions Unit from January 2022. Full training will be given.
