Incorporated in 1984. main board-listed Singapore Press Holdings Ltd (SPH) is Asia’s leading media organisation, engaging minds and enriching lives across multiple languages and platforms.

On the property front, SPH owns approximately 65% in SPH REIT whose portfolio comprises three properties in Singapore, namely Paragon. The clementi Mall and The Rail Mall in Australia, SPH REIT holds an 85% stake in Figtree Grove Shopping Centre and a 50% stake in Westlield Marion Shopping Centre.

The Job of Software Engineer
To support the fast-growing data analytics function, we are looking for a bright and competent software engineer. We are constantly looking for new ideas and converting them into actions. The ideal candidates will possess relevant technical, critical thiniking and interpersonal skills, You will be working with a team of data scientists, data analysts, data engineers, and software engineers to develop data products for more intelligent operations and to solve real-life problems. you will be helping to shape data platforms and data products for the core media business and other adjacencies. The team is highly diversified with members from completely different backgrounds, but we all, believe in systematic approaches and we are always open to new solutions.

Key Responsibilities of Software Engineer

  • Design, develop, test, deploy and maintain analytics applications and solutions based on engineering best practices.
  • Work with the team to develop and refine the team’s analytics process flows, including CI/CD and automated testing for data pipelines and machine learning models.
  • Practice and advocate modern coding standards and best practices.

Software Engineer Requirements

  • Degree in Computet Science, Electronic Engineering or related fields with equivalent work experience
  • At least 2 years of software development experience in production environments(e.g. Python, C/C++,GoLang)
  • Strong understanding of Devops principles and software development methodologies for Analytics/AI platforms and containerization technologies
  • Hands-on experience in CI/CD pipelines with integrations for automated testing, code coverage/ analysis dependency management, artifact management SAST, SCA, DAST
  • Experience in the following technologies are preferred:
    • Monitoring/Logging: Prometheus, Grafana, New Relic. AWS Cloudwatch, ELK
    • Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, CloudFormation
    • CI/CD: Jenkins, AWS CodeBuild/CodePipeline/ CodeDeploy,

The Job of Data Scientist
You will be part of a team of data scientists and analysts, implementing the roadmap for SPH’s analytics journey. You will be responsible for helping businesses within SPH derive insights from available data through the use of statistical models. You are expected to be highly independent and to lead projects through the entire analytics lifecycle.

Requirements of Data Scientist

  • A good university degree in Statistics, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science or related fields
  • Experience in customer analytics and modelling including customer lifetime value, subscription propensity, and customer retention modelling preferred
  • Experience in developing and deploying production-grade machine learning models preferred
  • Keen interest in stakeholders management and data science product management
  • Proficient with python and/or other programming and statistical applications (Eg. R, SAS, SPSS, Matlab. Octave, Java, C#, Python)
  • Comfortable with manipulating and analysing high-volumes of complex data from varying sources
  • Familiar with SQL and relational databases

  • Proven ability to build scalable and reliable batch and streaming data pipelines for production grade data products/platforms.
  • Experience with creating APIs to connect and integrate analytical stacks to application layers.
  • Highly experienced with SQL. Good experience with Python or other script languages. Comfortable with deploying working scripts on Windows/Linux server.
  • Familiar with ETL processes and workflow tools such as Apache Airflow.
  • Familiar with storage, data management, ETL tools/ services from Amazon Web Services such as Glue. Redshift.
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform, particularly m BigQuery and other data related services, is a plus.
  • Experience with ModelOps. DevOps, machine learning is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills – able to collect, organize and analyze significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Highly efficient and able to work independently with good time management.

We are looking for a project manager to join our Strategy and Special projects team at SPH focusing on media and advertising solutions. You will be involved in a few paramount research study projects to understand the audience media consumption and media landscape changes for Singapore, particularly for SPH media channels. The eventual scope will be to help the division, a company that owns multiple media platforms, design a path to qrowth and profitability with new research and insights.

The role of the Manager is to derive insights from internal and external data to help identify key audience consumption behavior, opportunities and develop scenario analysis and action plans to support the media solutions division.

The Job of Manager
The position is a research insights role supporting media solutions and advertising at SPH

Key scope includes understanding fundamental primary research methodology, designing simple surveys (survey monkey), developing, generating reports and analyzing data from research to tell a compelling story.

Manager Responsibilities include:

  • Gathering and analyzing industry information and internal business plans to spot opportunities and identify action plans
  • Track competitive trends, develop scenario analysis
  • Develop analysis into presentations; with presentation to internal stakeholders
  • Working with multiple stakeholders – facilitating meetings, moderating discussion and generating analysis for presentations and communication to take to the industry
  • Project management across multiple stakeholders and multiple projects to facilitate or to develop partnerships or media directions with the goal of business growth

Requirements of Manager
This role will require the individual to have:-

  • At least 4-5 years of relevant working experience
  • Strong media knowledge across online and offline media
  • Good media planning capabilities and ability to provide evaluation and strategy based on insights (Consumer, Media, Competitive status etc.)
  • Understand marketing and advertising principles with focus on customers, markets and technologies will be a plus
  • Ability to conduct desk-top research, where necessary, to understand market landscape
  • Ability to work on several projects at the same time, often with different product owners.
  • Ability to liaise with multiple parties across sph such as internal teams and external vendors

Skills requirement of Manager

  • Knowledge of Nielsen Media Index. Adquest and/or Radio Adviser/ eRam, ComScore, GA will be a plus
  • Good command of MS Office including Excel, Power point and word.
  • Strong number sense and meticulous in data details will be key to succeeding in this role
  • Enjoys writing and summarizing findings
  • Marketing or advertising degree
  • Ability to present
