Tsow-Tun Le Lum Society wanted Psychologist and Clinical Counsellor
Tsow-Tun Le Lum Society hiring for Psychologist and Clinical Counsellor
Tsow-Tun Le Lum Society, Seeking a Registered Psychologist or Registered Clinical Counselor to provide clinical services to clients in the Kwunatsustul Program at Tsow Tun Le Lum Treatment Centre located in Lantzville. BC This is a part-time contractor position: working two days per week, and up to 90 days per fiscal year.

Job Type:- Part-Time Contract Position
Closing date Extended: Monday, 26th November 2018.
Duties include:-
- One-to-one and group therapy,
- Case consultation,
- Assessments and interventions,
- Staff training and other services negotiated between the contracting parties,
- providing support to the Kwunatsustul (trauma) team by augmenting ceremonies and group work done in the Kwunatsustul program.
Qualifications:-
- Registered Psychologist or Registered Clinical Counsellor.
- Knowledge of the impact of colonization, residential school abuses, and racism is essential
- Cultural sensitivity and awareness of diverse First Nations peoples.
- Thorough Training and experience in treating PTSD, anxiety, depression, and sexual trauma
- Ability to provide clients with tools to help them self-regulate and reduce their symptoms.
- Willingness to learn the traditional teachings of first nations people.
- Being a team player is also necessary to ensure the delivery of an effective treatment program.
Additional Requirements:-
- A criminal record check will be conducted.
- Knowledge of aboriginal people, culture and traditions.
- Be three (3) years alcohol and drug free including prescription medications.
- Willingness to role model and maintain an abstinent lifestyle free from alcohol and drugs.
- Hold a valid First Aid certificate or willing to attend First Aid training.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- In meeting the objectives and philosophies of the society, preferences will be given to qualified individuals of Aboriginal Ancestry in accordance with Section 42 of the BC Human Rights Code.
