HCHA is seeking to appoint a passionate, energetic and capable leader with a growth mindset to provide strategic leadership and overall management of the organisation’s activities. Working closely with the Board, this role offers an interesting mix of advocacy, policy leadership and operational management, as well as the opportunity to lead a sector that is a key part of New Zealand’s health strategy.

Lead an Association whose purpose is ‘advocacy, influence, innovation’ Strategic and operational role, with diverse stakeholder engagement Based in Wellington CBD; 20 hours per week

This is an exciting opportunity to make an important contribution to HCHA’s future, and could be suitable for either an experienced Chief Executive or emerging senior leader. This is a part time role for 20 hours per week based in Wellington central.

Person Profile:

• A good understanding of strategy, planning and NGO leadership focused on high impact communications and influence, with experience in the provision of high-level policy advice and advocacy
• Broad understanding of the machinery of government, preferably with experience in engaging with politicians, their advisors and senior government officials
• Ability to think and act both strategically and operationally
• Senior leadership experience in a membership based organisation
• Strong negotiation skills and the ability to engage and influence
• A track record of success in, and commitment to, building and maintaining exceptional stakeholder relationships
• Demonstrated strong commercial acumen and business management expertise
• An understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
• Very highly developed written and oral communication skills
• A motivated self-starter with high levels of integrity
